Jhaelant is a drow wizard from Phaervorul. He has come to dislike the rest of the drow in the city, in particular Matron Urlvrain, though his reasons are unknown.
When the Challengers of the Unspeakable came to Phaervorul looking for Theriana, who had kidnapped Myra Brigg, Jhaelant agreed to tell them where to find her in exchange for Matron Urlvrain's head.
