'''Magic''' is a powerful force bound into the very fabric of creation itself, and can be manipulated by skilled wielders to achieve a variety of effects known as spells. There are three different types of magic, and while each is capable of producing similar effects their sources are very different. ==Arcane Magic== Arcane magic is created by manipulating the latent energy of the universe itself. It is the most difficult magic to wield, and typically requires careful study to master. Some individuals may have a particular latent talent for arcane magic if their heritage includes one or more inherently magical beings, while others seek to draw magical energy from existing sources such as artifacts or through deals with more powerful beings. Classes that wield arcane magic include bards, sorcerers, wizards, and warlocks. ==Divine Magic== Divine magic is derived from the gods and demigods themselves, or those empowered by them. It is theoretically the easiest magic to wield, generally requiring only devotion to one's chosen deity, although practitioners must be aware that such power comes at their will and can be withheld if they fail to remain within their patron's good graces. Classes that wield divine magic include clerics and paladins. ==Primal Magic== Primal magic comes from the elements that make up the world, and is sometimes described as being the magic of the land. Though easier to use and control than arcane magic, it is less malleable and as a result is more restricted in its potential uses. Those who maintain a close connection to nature are often able to intuitively draw upon its power. Classes that wield primal magic include druids, rangers, and shamans. [[Category:Magic]]
