Orvex Ocrammas was a professor at the [[Univeristy of Cimmer]], specializing in the history of [[Omu]]. He taught [[Wyncit Sutler]], finding the youth to be a disappointing student without the drive to properly apply himself to the work. Wyncit found Orvex aggravating enough to avoid learning the Ancient Omuan language later in his studies.

In 2970 a group of wizards told Orvex that they had located the lost city of Omu within the jungles of [[Palmheart]] and wanted to hire him as their guide. Orvex was thrilled at both the opportunity and the offered payment, and immediately traveled to [[Rathna]] to begin the expedition. One night, their camp was attacked by [[yuan-ti]]; many of his companions were killed, while Orvex himself was trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building. [[Brecca Greenstone]] of the [[Sutler Expedition]] happened to pass by the next morning, and she and Wyncit dug him out. Not knowing what had become of his surviving companions who were not present for the yuan-ti attack, Orvex decided to join them.

His time with the Sutler Expedition proved short-lived, however. The next day, as they attempted to ford the river coursing through the city, he was shot in the heart by a tabaxi hunter and killed instantly. Wyncit wrapped the professor's body in a tattered canvas and set it adrift in the river, where it plunged over a waterfall into a lake of bubbling lava.
