Despite riding around on a giant bat, having a spirit bat following her around, creepily collecting vials of blood from fallen enemies, and having eyes that flash red in the presence of blood, she firmly maintains that she's not a vampire, what are you, crazy?

When the [[Challengers of the Unspeakable]] entered the [[Abyss]] to kill the drow vampire [[Zirithian]], the demon lord [[Orcus]] offered to make Sarahlia his exarch if she killed him in his name and brought him his sword. She agreed and, after killing Zirithian, attempted to deliver on her promise until [[Kalth]] stopped her. When they discovered that the sword was intelligent, Sarahlia changed her mind and decided they should keep it for themselves. As her companions escaped through a portal, Sarahlia turned and desecrated a symbol of Orcus. Orcus responded by blasting her with a bolt of dark energy. She survived, but rather than maker her escape as well she raised her middle finger towards the demon lord. Orcus simply closed the portal, trapping her in the Abyss.

After several weeks of torture, Orcus finally killed her. Her body was dismembered and sewn into ten different ghouls, which ultimately wound up under the control of [[Harthur]] as exarch of the [[Nightbringer]].
