'''Shoth-Gorag''' is a creature from the [[Far Realm]]. It was summoned to [[Syra]] by [[Tephra]] to kill the [[Challengers of the Unspeakable]] so that she could retrieve the soul gems of [[Acererak]] from their corpses. However, Shoth-Gorag was itself slain by the Challengers; its body dissolved, leaving only its heart, from which it could regenerate in time. Rather than destroying it, the Challengers instead brought it to [[Myra Brigg]] at the [[Trine Academy]] in [[Silverstone]] in order to use it in a ritual to close Tephra's gateway to the Far Realm. The heart was placed in a secured vault, guarded by a variety of wards in case Shoth-Gorag began to regenerate.

This fear proved unfounded during the [[Battle of Silverstone]], when the presence of so much aberrant energy resulted in Shoth-Gorag regenerating almost instantaneously. Myra and [[Harthur Grai]] were able to slay it once again with the aid of the wards and, unwilling to risk it being reborn a third time, Harthur shattered its heart with ''[[Farbane]]''.
