Though many mistakenly believe them to be an evil race, like the [[drow]] or [[duergar]], svirfneblin are generally good-natured, if a bit standoffish. They live in large underground cities, which are kept well-hidden from outsiders. It is very common, however, for svirfneblin caravans to make yearly treks to the surface to trade with a select few settlements or individuals who have proven themselves to be trustworthy.
