Though the city was initially overrun with foulspawn and undead, when the [[Challengers of the Unspeakable]] destroyed the corrupted, undead paladin [[Gryff]], the goddess [[Nalindra]] interceded to claim his soul from [[Orcus]], vaporizing all of the undead and foulspawn within the ruins.
