History
Jorak was one of the mages who helped Voran create the shardminds to help battle the mind flayers during the Illithid War. After the war, he left the ruins of Estorium with Voran and some survivors to settle elsewhere. Voran sent Jorak away, however, and tasked him - along with the shardmind Naram - with devising a means of fighting against the mind flayers should they rise up again. Ultimately, the pair founded the Order of the Topaz Crusaders, which Naram has been leading ever since.
