However, when several towers collapsed with fatalities, the city council put a height limit into law and the tower building stopped. Some of the towers still remain.  The controlling families now compete by using their wealth by giving elaborate festivals.

Arino is a member of the City States of Cimmer and is called the City of Towers. Because of the natural boundaries of river and cliffs, Arino has no need of a city wall. The Great Canal connects Arino with the Elissan River that eventually makes its way down to Thess.
