The Seed of Winter is a powerful artifact once belonging to the Prince of Frost.
Many years ago, the Prince of Frost gave it to one of his most trusted servants to wage war on the Summer Court; the servant returned in defeat, without the Seed of Winter, and neither were seen again.
In 2959, while defending the Trine Academy from an attack by Theriana, the kercpa Chrip discovered the Seed of Winter in the academy's vaults. Instantly recognizing it, he pocketed the Seed and "promised" that he would return it. Instead, Chrip used the Seed of Winter to defeat the Prince of Frost and claim the mantle of archfey for himself.
