Kubuzan is one of the Nine Gods worshiped by the people of Omu.

Kubuzan and the rest of the Nine Gods came to Omu at some point after the city's fall. Though not truly deities, the people began worshiping them as such and constructed shrines for them throughout the city. The inscription above Kubuzan's shrine read, "Kubuzan urges us to tread without fear and to give back as much as we take." Kubuzan's shrine was located just north of the entrance to the city.

The Nine Gods were ultimately killed by Acererak, who imprisoned them within the Tomb of the Nine Gods. Kubuzan's spirit was bound to a pair of bracers, which lay entombed for many years until they were discovered by the Sutler Expedition. Kubuzan's spirit subsequently inhabited Makai, promising him and his companions aid in their fight against Acererak.
